#LastWeekHighlights
The impact continues! Here's a recap of the discussions and connections made at our event on July 10th where a quarterly panel discussion among CSO national dialogue reference group and Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission (ENDC) took place.
The discussions revolved around a presentation by ENDC’s focal person on the progress activity reports upcoming plans, expectations and challenges.
Coalitions were formed to facilitate the national dialogue, specifically engaging with representatives from women's groups, interfaith forums, youth, and people with disabilities. During discussions, the women's and interfaith forum representatives also shared their activities, challenges, expectations, and future plans in supporting the National Dialogue and meaningfully participating.
Terefe Degeti, Executive Director of ECSOC in his opening speech underlined “The main purpose of this forum is to provide a platform for us to understand the National Dialogue Commission’s work done so far, future plans and expected activities, and challenges faced, as well as consolidated meeting with representatives of civil society organizations, coalitions formed for the consultation on a quarterly basis or as needed."
The meeting was organized in partnership with Life & Peace Institute (LPI) as part of the project dubbed "Enhancing the Role of Civil Society Organizations in Ethiopia’s National Dialogue and Transitional Justice"
The Ethiopian Civil Society Organizations Council (ECSOC) will be hosting a similar discussion platform this week. Stay tuned!
