Representatives from various media outlets have arrived in Dire Dawa today as part of a Media Tour visiting civil society organizations working in different sectors in Eastern Ethiopia.
The main purpose of the visit is to fill the gap between the civil society and the media sector and to support the efforts to bring the two sectors closer together and create an atmosphere of mutual understanding.
The media visit was organized in collaboration with the Authority of Civil Society Organizations, and during the next 3 days of the media tour, civil society organizations in Jigjiga, Harar and Dire Dawa will be visited by the media personnel.
The Ethiopian Civil Society Organizations Council (ECSOC) and the Authority of Civil Society Organizations(ACSO) gave a briefing to the media about the general activities they are undertaking and a discussion was held with the media based on the briefing.
The differences and complimentary sides between ECSOC and ACSO have also been widely explained.
